Boom

Long considered an NFL under-achiever, Cook turned in career highs in receptions (54) and yards (688) last year (his first season with Oakland). Only six TEs had more receiving yards in 2017. Cook wound up leading the Raiders in receiving yards and was second on the team behind Michael Crabtree in receptions. Cook spent 2016 with the Packers and signed a two-year, $10 million deal with Oakland prior to the 2017 season.

Bust

Cook had just two scoring grabs last season and has recorded only 19 in nine NFL seasons. Heading into his 10th year as a pro, Cook is playing for his fourth team. The Raiders have an all-new coaching staff for 2018, and they’ve added veteran WRs Jordy Nelson and Martavis Bryant.

Bottom Line

In his nine NFL seasons playing for the Titans, Rams, Packers and Raiders, Cook has produced an average stat-line of 40-508-2. No one can be certain how new coach Jon Gruden will utilize Cook in the Raiders’ attack. We project Cook will produce a tick over his career averages, making him a solid fantasy TE2.
