Strong Points: Size and length. Frame to get to 325 pounds without losing quickness. Good play strength. Plays with a nasty attitude and will get after opponents. Looks to finish most run blocks. Gets low for a guy so tall. Shows he can get to second level and make a productive block.
Weak Points: Dismissed from the San Diego State program with two games remaining for breaking team rules. Still had two years of eligibility remaining. Doesn't consistently take good angles when he sets in pass protection. Gets low for run blocks, but he sometimes gets tall in pass pro and gives ground vs. bull rush.
The Way We See It: Roemer is a talented player, but there are obviously some off-field issues that need to be addressed and will affect his draft status. Roemer played some good football the past two years. He had started 23 straight games at left tackle before the suspension. I don't see him playing at left tackle in the NFL, where he may not have the needed lateral agility and recovery quickness. He has the traits to become a starting right tackle -- and a good one -- if he clears up his off-field issues. I like his aggressiveness and competitive nature, which bodes well for his future. His talent says second-to-third-round, but until he makes clubs comfortable with him despite past issues, he could go later.
