- BProjectionRound 5-6
- YearRS Junior
Strong Points: Speed and athleticism. Pass-rush prowess. Burst and closing ability. Good instincts and reacts quickly to both pass and run. Strong hand use. Strength and power to play bigger than his size and get off blocks.
Weak Points: Kicked off Virginia Tech team following the third game last season. Team was not sure he would even be eligible because of academic issues. Small-frame guy for an end and lacks much growth potential. Limited experience in coverage -- can he play on his feet?
The Way We See It: Hill is a very talented edge rusher. He had 4 ½ sacks in only three games last season and 10 in his past 15 games. He lacks ideal size but is quick, fast and explosive. Hill knows how to use his hands and keep blockers off his body. His best fit is as a pass rusher in a 3-4 scheme, but he might not be able to hold vs. the run as a 4-3 end. Still, he will be a wild-card draft choice because of character concerns. Teams will vet him closely. He's a second-round talent because of his pass-rush skills but will go much later.
