- CProjectionRound 6-UFA
Strong Points: Three-year starter. Co-Captain. Makes all the line calls. Effective as both a run and pass blocker. Strong in the lower body. Athletic enough to play guard. Very aware -- looks to help out when free, adjusts to and picks up stunts and blitzes.
Weak Points: A bit short for the position and appears to have short arms. Not a really powerful guy -- adequate strength but needs to get stronger in both the upper and lower body. Inconsistent finisher. Average bend. Doesn't drive opponent off the ball on a consistent basis. Spends too much time on the ground.
The Way We See It: Mustipher was a good college player, but can he muster enough to play at the next level? His 2018 film illustrates some regression from 2017, when he had two top-10 picks (Quenton Nelson and Mike McGlinchey) on his left side and a different coach (Harry Hiestand). Two seasons ago, he consistently created movement and anchored in pass pro. Last season, he started slowly and there was a noticeable difference in his play, including him spending more time on the ground and failing to finish off opponents. If Mustipher reverts back to his 2017 form, he has a chance to be a backup at center and guard. Though he isn't a top athlete, he showed he can pull and adjust on the move. His workouts will be important -- perhaps the difference between getting drafted and being an UDFA.
