Strong Points: Instincts -- especially in coverage. Athleticism -- quick feet and smooth turn. Rangy. Very good ball skills and strong hands. Man-coverage ability vs. slot receivers.
Weak Points: Size and very limited growth potential. Average tackler -- does not do much in run support. Lacks speed and suddenness to play corner.
The Way We See It: Denis had a great year in 2017, recording seven interceptions and 83 tackles. Those numbers drastically dropped in 2018, when he had only 1 pick and 49 total tackles. Denis has instincts, enhancing his range in coverage, but his size limitations will be difficult to overcome. Safeties in the NFL have to be aggressive and physical, and that isn't part of Denis' game. Some teams might look at him as a slot corner, but he lacks the movement skills to be effective there. He projects more as a backup safety who can get a team with injuries out of some games but not a preferred starter.
