Strong Points: Size and reach. Very productive 2018 with 86 receptions for 1,176 yards and 9 TDs. Flashes contested-catch ability. Returns kickoffs. Open even when covered because of his height and length.
Weak Points: Talented but goes through the motions too often. Lacks toughness and a consistent competitive nature. Lazy running routes if he's not the primary. Fails to finish. Too often gives little or zero effort blocking. Average speed.
The Way We See It: Humphrey is a very talented football player who doesn't know how to use his talent. There are flashes of excellence, where we see his talent, but intermixed with so many dog plays, teams must decide whether they can trust him. Several players with these issues were drafted high in recent seasons before busting. Humphrey needs a heart transplant if he wants to be successful in the NFL. With his size and growth potential, he just might be a "move" tight end because he lacks receiver speed, but he's also not strong and physical. The grade is based on talent, and he could go much higher than I would draft him.
