Strong Points: Very big corner with height and length. Quickness of a much smaller man. Changes direction in a heartbeat and has good suddenness. Good speed and burst. Aggressive in press with a strong jam. Good-to-very good mirror skills vs. both speed and moves. Locates the football in the air and knows how to finish. Strong hands. Good tackler -- sheds blocks quickly. Feet and transition skills are very good.
Weak Points: Limited experience playing off and zone. Occasionally fails to get his head turned in time.
The Way We See It: A big, well-built press corner who plays with a physical style, Williams had a breakout 2018 season with 61 total tackles, 4 interceptions and 13 passes defensed. He mostly plays press, lining upright on top of his opponent. Williams applies a strong jam to redirect and possesses good mirror skills vs. short and long routes. He played some off and zone, but I didn't see enough to accurately grade. He does keep good position and play with awareness in zone. Williams plays the ball well, but there are instances when he doesn't turn his head quickly enough. Still, he makes a receiver work to get a reception. Williams is also aggressive in run support, shedding and surely wrapping. Teams could line up for Williams because of his size and length. Assuming he times well, he'll off the board early.
