Strong Points: Very athletic with great get-off. Quick hands -- when they stay low, he usually wins. Good interior pass rusher. Produces "wow" plays. Consistent playmaker vs. the run with quickness to be disruptive force.
Weak Points: Originally enrolled at Florida but was forced to leave because of off-field issues, and did not play in 2017 at Miami because of more of the same. Knee surgery in 2016. Gets undisciplined and ends up taking himself out of position to make plays. Inconsistent hand use. Occasionally gets too tall. Must add some size and strength.
The Way We See It: Willis is obviously a very talented prospect, but teams must decide whether his past issues are in the past or a harbinger of problems in the future. He also has some technique issues -- including getting too tall -- but many of his problems on the field are correctable with good coaching and concentration. Willis is ideally suited to be a 3-tech in a 4-3 scheme. If his arms are long enough, he should also be able to play as a 5-tech. He has the talent to play in the rotation as a rookie and become a starter by Year 2. The main concern: Can a club trust him?
