Strong Points: Adequate TE size. Good athlete with above-average speed. Very willing as a blocker. Good short route runner. Strong hands and adjusts to the ball.

Weak Points: Must get stronger. Willing as a blocker but lacks snap and explosion to get movement. Speed limitations -- not a field-stretcher. Route tree is minimal.

The Way We See It: Sample is a tough, competitive football player, but he has limitations. He lines up mainly as a "Y" or on the wing, also getting flexed out on occasion. The majority of his pass routes are short crossing routes and hitches, with a very occasional flag or post. Sample has good hands and ball skills, adjusting to off-target throws. He isn't nifty after the catch but will get what is there. Sample gets after opponents in the blocking game -- he just lacks the strength and power to be consistently effective. If Sample gets stronger, with his competitive nature he can make a club as a third tight end. He should be able to backup at both the "Y" and "move" positions. There are guys with less talent at the position who are playing in the league.
