Strong Points: Very productive career. Solid size. Good athlete with adequate speed for the position. Smart route runner -- knows how to set up a defender. Shows he can break down at the top of a route and come out of cut quickly. Good-to-very good hands -- always catches the ball cleanly and has a large receiving radius. Good runner.

Weak Points: Not a burner. Broke his leg early in the 2017 season and received an injury redshirt. Did not look as explosive in return last season. Best as a short-to-medium range receiver. Snuck deep against MAC competition but doubt he will be able to in NFL.

The Way We See It: Off Thompson's 2018 tape, it's unclear whether he made it all the way back from leg injury a year earlier -- he didn't look as fast or as explosive. Still, he's a fluid route runner who catches the ball clean and consistently. He is tough and courageous and will compete for the ball in crowds. After the catch, Thompson gets what is there and then some. He isn't a burner, so he will have to earn his money as a possession receiver in the NFL. With his toughness, he should have good special-teams potential. The medical will be important, as will his spring workouts. He is a late pick with upside if the medical is OK and he runs a sub-4.60.
