Strong Points: Athletic with above-average speed. Good instincts and reactions -- locates the ball quickly. Dangerous edge rusher -- effective hands and knows how to close. Gets depth with his pass drop and has good receiver awareness. Transitions quickly to make plays on the ball.
Weak Points: First year as a starter. Marginal edge size. Inconsistent run defender -- not as physical as most Bama defenders. Good (not great) long speed. Misses some tackles.
The Way We See It: A late bloomer at Alabama, Miller needed five years to get on the field and play regularly. He was a good edge defender but not special. He is best as a pass rusher, using his quickness off the ball and a few different tricks to finish. He is not as good defending the run. He isn't bad; he just lacks physicality and is more reactionary than on the attack. Miller is tall and long but needs to add some bulk and weight in order to play at a more consistent level in the NFL. He has a chance to be a good backup, but if he has to start early he will be a marginal player. Not an overly exciting prospect.
