Strong Points: High-motor, snap-to-whistle player. Tough and competitive -- played hurt at the end of last season. Instinctive. Quick reactions and strong hand use. Good play strength. Frame to carry 260 pounds. Excellent pursuit player. Not big but plays the run very well. Sheds quickly.

Weak Points: Age (will be a 24-year-old rookie). Marginal size. Good (not great) speed for the position. Suffered an ankle injury late in the year that required surgery.

The Way We See It: Winovich played linebacker and quarterback in high school and was a two year-starter at Michigan, where he played both right and left end. He lacks ideal size but is a smart player who seldom gets caught out of position and knows how to use his hands. Winovich plays the run and pass equally well with good strength and the ability to hold the point and penetrate. He gets his fair share of sacks, but he generates even more pressures. He can be very disruptive vs. the run and hustles in pursuit. Winovich has good traits but plays with great effort, willing himself to succeed. He will be a very solid rotational player, as well as a core special-teams guy. 3-4 clubs will work him out to see if he can play on his feet. Solid player.
