Strong Points: High-volume playmaker. Very instinctive. Slips and eludes blocks yet can still stack at the line. Speed and quickness to defend vs. both the inside and outside run. Good pass rusher when asked to blitz. Quick in his drops and consistently keeps good position in coverage.
Weak Points: Slightly undersized for the position. Bit of a narrow frame. Inconsistent hands.
The Way We See It: Okereke was one of Stanford's better defensive players the past two seasons and their leading tackler in 2018 (94). He is slightly undersized, but it's the size that's playing now in the league. Okereke is very instinctive and always around the ball, playing sturdily at the point of attack to take on blocks or slipping them to find the ball. He has the speed and quickness to elude a block and still get to the play. In coverage, Okereke shows he can play man or zone equally well and plant and drive on the ball. He doesn't blitz a lot, but he is very effective with good pass-rush instincts. He must get a little bigger and stronger, but Okereke should contribute right away as a rookie. He's not for every scheme but can play in multiple.
