Jones, Greg (RB)
The Houston Texans have signed Jones.
The Texans needed a fullback after James Casey signed with Philadelphia after free agency opened. Jones has played his first nine NFL seasons with Jacksonville. The Jaguars drafted him in the second round in 2004. Jones helped Jacksonville running backs rush for 100 yards in a game 37 times.
Lechler, Shane (P)
The Houston Texans have signed Lechler. Terms of the contract were not disclosed by the team Saturday. ESPN reported the deal was for three years and worth a maximum of $5.5 million, with a $1 million signing bonus.
The 36-year-old Lechler is the NFL's career leader in gross average per punt (47.3 yards) and has led the league in gross average in four seasons. He also ranks seventh in career net punting average (38.8 yards).
Reed, Ed (S)
The nine-time Pro Bowl safety signed a contract with Houston on Friday, a week after leaving town with no deal in place.
The Texans did not disclose terms, though the Houston Chronicle reported it was a three-year deal worth $15 million, with $5 million guaranteed. The move is another blow to Baltimore, where Reed played his first 11 NFL seasons.
McCain, Brice (CB)
McCain has signed a three-year contract to stay with the Houston Texans. The 5-foot-9 McCain announced on Twitter late Tuesday that he had agreed to terms and thanked his agent, David Canter.
McCain was a sixth-round draft pick by the Texans in 2009. He played in 12 games with two starts last season before breaking his left foot in a Dec. 2 game against Tennessee.
Reed, Ed (S)
Reed is back at Reliant Stadium for more meetings with the Houston Texans.
The 34-year-old Reed arrived in Houston on Thursday aboard team owner Bob McNair's private jet and had a full day of meetings. The team announced on its Twitter site Friday morning that Reed was back in its offices at Reliant.
