Smith, Anthony (S)
Posted Nov. 07, 2009 @ 6:46 p.m.
The Jaguars have been awarded Smith off waivers from the St. Louis Rams.
Smith, a third-round draft pick by Pittsburgh in 2006, has played 48 games with 14 starts for the Steelers and Rams. He has 99 tackles, four interceptions and 23 special teams tackles. Smith played two games for the Rams this season before he was waived Thursday.
Bulger, Marc (QB)
Posted Nov. 05, 2009 @ 1:35 p.m.
Bulger has thrown just three touchdown passes and has a passer rating of 68.2 for the scuffling St. Louis Rams.
Don't expect coach Steve Spagnuolo to change quarterbacks. He has been generally pleased with the 32-year-old quarterback. Bulger hasn't had much help from his inexperienced crew of receivers. Laurent Robinson began the season as a favorite target but he's out for the rest of 2009 with an injury. Donnie Avery is now the go-to guy, but he's been hurt as well.
Brown, Josh (K)
Posted Nov. 04, 2009 @ 5:09 p.m.
Brown was named the NFC's special teams player of the week Wednesday after a game that saw him kick a 41-yard field goal but also throw a 36-yard touchdown pass to tight end Daniel Fells.
It was more of a flip on a fake field goal attempt that helped the Rams end a 17-game losing streak with a 17-10 victory over Detroit. Brown, who was a running back playing eight-man football at Foyil (Okla.) High School, said he considered trying to run for a first down. Instead, he sort of shot-putted the ball to Fells, who broke one tackle en route to the end zone.
Amendola, Danny (WR)
Posted Nov. 03, 2009 @ 8:06 p.m.
Amendola sat out practice Tuesday due to a concussion. Amendola rode a stationary bicycle during Tuesday's workout and coach Steve Spagnuolo said the diminutive receiver was set to undergo tests for concussion-related symptoms on Wednesday.
The 5-11, 186-pound Amendola was leveled by the Lions' Zach Follett early in the fourth quarter Sunday and didn't return to the Rams' 17-10 victory. He didn't remember leaving the field, but said he'd "probably" be on the field for the Rams' final practice Wednesday before players disperse for their off week. Amendola is averaging 24 yards on kickoff returns and 8.5 yards on punt returns, and has 15 receptions for 128 yards.
Jackson, Steven (RB)
Posted Nov. 02, 2009 @ 3:50 p.m.
Jackson's 25-yard touchdown run with 1:38 left lifted St. Louis to a 17-10 win Sunday over Detroit on Sunday.
Jackson ran for a season-high 149 yards on 22 carries and his go-ahead TD was St. Louis' first rushing score of the season.
