The Oakland Raiders have signed safety Reggie Smith and Jennings to free agent contracts. General manager Reggie McKenzie announced the deals Thursday.
Jennings replaces Mike Goodson as the backup to Darren McFadden. He has rushed for 944 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 61 passes in 38 games with Jacksonville. After missing the 2011 season with a knee injury, Jennings returned to play 10 games last season and start six. He averaged just 2.8 yards per carry.

Hunter spent the past three seasons in Denver, sitting out last year with a triceps injury. But he has familiarity with both McKenzie and Allen. He played the first three years of his career in Green Bay where McKenzie worked in the front office. He then played in Denver in 2011 when Allen was defensive coordinator.
