The agent for Chase Blackburn says the former New York Giants linebacker has agreed on a two-year contract with the Carolina Panthers. Financial terms weren't released. Richard Katz said Wednesday his client is "thrilled" to join the Panthers. Blackburn broke the news on Twitter, writing "Thanks for 8 great yrs (at)Giants. Gross says he's agreed to take a pay cut to remain with the Carolina Panthers.
Gross' new deal is worth $5.5 million in 2013 and will void out after the season, making him a free agent. That's significantly less than the 10-year veteran was scheduled to make the next two seasons. The two-time Pro Bowl selection was scheduled to earn $8.7 million this year and $6.7 million in 2014.

The Panthers have signed Ginn from the San Francisco 49ers. Carolina announced Friday that Ginn signed a one-year deal.

A person familiar with the situation says the Carolina Panthers have agreed to a one-year contract with Mitchell. The person spoke to The Associated Press Wednesday on condition of anonymity because the move has not been publically announced.
Mitchell played in 61 games with nine starts during four seasons with the Oakland Raiders. He had 41 tackles last season and one sack. Mitchell will have a chance to compete for the Panthers starting strong safety job with Haruki Nakamura and D.J. Campbell. The team moved Charles Godfrey to free safety last season.

The Panthers have signed Moore. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound Moore played in 13 games with two starts for the Chicago Bears last season and had 29 tackles and two interceptions.

Anderson says he has agreed to a one-year contract to remain with the Carolina Panthers as Cam Newton's backup. Anderson says he will sign the contract later Wednesday. Financial details were not disclosed.
