Rugland, Havard (K)

Posted April 11, 2013 @ 4:45 p.m.
The Detroit Lions have signed Rugland. Terms of the deals weren't disclosed by the team Thursday.
Detroit's deal with Rugland seems to give newly acquired kicker David Akers some competition or at least provides some depth at the position for practice. The Lions recently signed Akers soon after Jason Hanson retired and now also has a Norwegian Internet kicking sensation on the roster. He posted a trick-shot video - called "Kickalicious" - the 6-foot-2, 240-pound Rugland posted in September has more than 2.7 million views.

Robiskie, Brian (WR)

Posted April 08, 2013 @ 7:46 p.m.
The Lions released Robiskie, announcing the move Monday.
Robiskie played in six games, making four receptions for the Lions in 2012. He was signed as a midseason injury replacement.

Akers, David (K)

Posted April 05, 2013 @ 6:27 p.m.
The Detroit Lions have added Akers one day after Jason Hanson retired.
San Francisco released Akers a month ago after he slumped during the 2012 season. The six-time Pro Bowl kicker made 73 of 94 field goals over two seasons for the 49ers. He underwent double hernia surgery in February 2012 then aggravated the area during the season when he slipped on the field during practice. Akers has made 367 of 453 field goals in his career with Washington, Philadelphia and San Francisco.

Mosley, C.J. (DT)

Posted April 01, 2013 @ 5:54 p.m.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have released Mosley. Mosley spent the last three seasons with the Jaguars, starting 15 games and recording 136 tackles.
He won the starting job over Terrance Knighton last season. He started 12 games in 2012 and had a career-best 80 tackles. He also had 2 1/2 sacks and three fumble recoveries. Mosley has eight years in the league, spending time with Minnesota, the New York Jets, Cleveland and Jacksonville.

Delmas, Louis (S)

Posted March 15, 2013 @ 4:31 p.m.
A person with knowledge of the deal says safety Louis Delmas has agreed to a two-year contract to remain with the Detroit Lions. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Friday because no announcement had been made. The 25-year-old Delmas returns to Detroit after the Lions added free agent safety Glover Quin earlier this week.
Delmas played only eight games last season but started them all. He was limited by left knee problems.

Bush, Reggie (RB)

Posted March 13, 2013 @ 1:54 p.m.
Bush is joining the Detroit Lions. The Lions introduced the free agent running back Wednesday. They did not immediately provide any details about his contract.
Bush gives Detroit another speedy playmaker for an offense that already includes star receiver Calvin Johnson. He's being brought in to help improve a terrible running game.

Houston, Chris (CB)

Posted March 13, 2013 @ 11:41 a.m.
The agent for Houston says the player has also agreed to a new deal that will keep him with the Lions.
Detroit has not confirmed the news yet, but it appears to be a done deal.

Jones, Jason (DE)

Posted March 13, 2013 @ 11:40 a.m.
The agent for Jones says the 26-year-old defensive end has agreed to terms with the Detroit Lions.
Agent Mike McCartney says Wednesday on Twitter that he's "excited for Jason Jones to be in Honolulu Blue" after agreeing to a deal with the Lions. Terms are not immediately available. Jones, who is from the Detroit area, played 12 games with the Seattle Seahawks last season.

Spievey, Amari (S)

Posted March 12, 2013 @ 5:33 p.m.
Spievey has agreed to a one-year deal to stay with the Detroit Lions. Agent Andy Simms said Tuesday that Spievey is set to remain with the only NFL team he's played for. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound safety started two games last season, but he was placed on injured reserve in mid-November because of a concussion.
The 24-year-old Spievey has played three seasons with the Lions after they drafted him in the third round in 2010. He has started 26 games, including 15 in 2011, when he had three interceptions and the Lions reached the playoffs.

Akers, David (K)

Posted March 06, 2013 @ 5:56 p.m.
Six-time Pro Bowl kicker David Akers has been released by the San Francisco 49ers after two seasons filled with record-breaking highs and incredible lows. General Manager Trent Baalke thanked Akers in a statement Wednesday, calling him a "true professional who represented himself and this organization with class." Akers appeared in all 32 regular-season games and five playoff contests the past two seasons. He connected on 73 of 94 field goal attempts and all 78 PATs.
In 2011, Akers set NFL records with 44 field goals made and 52 attempted. He also tied the league mark for the longest made when he kicked from 63 yards in last season's opener at Green Bay. But Akers made just 29 of 44 attempts last season, his lowest percentage since 1999. The 49ers even brought in Billy Cundiff to compete against Akers before the divisional-round playoff and NFC championship game.
