Palmer, Carson (QB)
The Arizona Cardinals have acquired quarterback Carson Palmer from the Oakland Raiders. The Cardinals gave up a conditional 2014 draft pick and swapped one of their sixth-round picks this year for Oakland's seventh-round selection.
Palmer, who agreed to rework his contract with the Cardinals, is expected to move into the starting quarterback role for new Arizona coach Bruce Arians.

Shaughnessy, Matt (DE)
The Arizona Cardinals have reached agreement on a one-year contract with defensive end Matt Shaughnessy, the seventh free agent acquired by the team this week.
Shaughnessy started all 16 games last season with the Oakland Raiders. He had 3.5 sacks along with 42 tackles, 29 solos. The Raiders selected Shaughnessy in the third round of the 2009 draft out of Wisconsin, where he was a teammate of Arizona outside linebacker O'Brien Schofield.
Mendenhall, Rashard (RB)
The Arizona Cardinals addressed one of their significant needs on Wednesday by reaching agreement on a one-year contract with Mendenhall.
Mendenhall played four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where his offensive coordinator for much of that time was new Arizona head coach Bruce Arians. Mendenhall had a difficult 2012 season after tearing an ACL in 2011. Last year, he rushed for just 182 yards in 52 carries. Mendenhall rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
Johnson, Rashad (S)
The Cardinals have re-signed Johnson to a three-year contract.
Johnson spent the last four seasons with the Cardinals and became a free agent after last season. The 2009 third-round draft pick out of Alabama is expected to start at strong safety after taking the job from Adrian Wilson late last season. Wilson, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, was released by Arizona last week. Johnson had a career-best two interceptions last season with 15 tackles and a fumble recovery in 15 games, three as a starter.
