PLAYER NEWS
Lewis, Dion (RB)
The Browns have acquired Lewis from the Philadelphia Eagles in a trade for linebacker Emmanuel Acho.
Lewis played 24 games in two seasons with the Eagles, who selected him in the fifth round in 2011. He rushed for 171 yards on 36 carries and scored two touchdowns. The 5-foot-8, 195-pound Lewis also returned kickoffs for Philadelphia as a rookie and will likely be a candidate to take over those duties for Cleveland. Lewis averaged 21.6 yards on 31 kickoff returns in 2011.

Nelson, David (WR)
The Browns signed Nelson to a one-year contract Monday.
Nelson, who played three seasons for Buffalo, is coming off a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in last season's opener. The 6-foot-5, 214-pounder started 17 games for the Bills, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2010. Nelson had 94 catches for 1,042 yards and eight touchdowns with the Bills. In 2011, he was second on the club in catches (61) and receiving yards (658). He also had five TDs.

Campbell, Jason (QB)
The Browns signed Campbell to a two-year contract on Tuesday, bringing him to provide competition for fellow quarterback Brandon Weeden.
A first round pick by the Redskins in 2005, Campbell has started 77 games and thrown 76 touchdown passes in eight seasons. Weeden's starting spot might not be completely assured after an up-and-down rookie season.

Barnes, Kevin (CB)
The Cleveland Browns signed Barnes to a one-year contract. Barnes has played in 31 career NFL games for Washington and Detroit.
He was drafted by the Redskins in the third round in 2009 and played in 15 games. In 2011, he recorded a career-high 26 tackles and two interceptions in 15 games. He was traded to the Lions last year and played in two games before he was waived on Sept. 18.

Richardson, Trent (RB)
Richardson has been sued by two women who say they were assaulted at his home last year. A lawyer for Krystal Jones of Maple Heights and Kathleen Hunter of Cleveland says the lawsuit was filed Friday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. A Browns spokesman declined to comment. Richardson's agent didn't immediately comment.
The complaint, obtained by the Plain Dealer of Cleveland, says the women were invited to Richardson's Columbia Station house in December but soon asked to leave. It says Richardson then cursed the women for "slamming a door" and "disrespecting his house." The lawsuit says Richardson banged on Jones' vehicle, causing damage. It says Richardson then urged his girlfriend and two other women, also named in the lawsuit, to attack the plaintiffs.
