Yates, Billy (G)
Posted March 18, 2010 @ 4:06 p.m.
The Cleveland Browns have re-signed Yates.
Yates, who was an unrestricted free agent, was signed by the Browns last September. He spent five seasons with the New England Patriots before coming to Cleveland. Yates played in seven games for the Browns last season. He has made 11 starts and appeared in 32 career games.
Ventrone, Ray (S)
Posted March 16, 2010 @ 4:11 p.m.
The Browns have re-signed Ventrone on Tuesday.
Ventrone played mostly on special teams after signing with the Browns as a free agent in September.
Estandia, Greg (TE)
Posted March 16, 2010 @ 4:06 p.m.
The Browns have re-signed Estandia on Tuesday.
Estandia was claimed off waivers in September from Jacksonville. The 6-foot-8 Estandia made four catches for 45 yards in four games last season.
Hillis, Peyton (RB)
Posted March 14, 2010 @ 4:33 p.m.
The Cleveland Browns have acquired Hillis and a 2011 draft pick from Denver in exchange for quarterback Brady Quinn.
Hillis is an excellent blocking back and this should be a solid deal for the Browns since Quinn never proved he had what it takes to start in the NFL.
Delhomme, Jake (QB)
Posted March 11, 2010 @ 10:44 a.m.
Delhomme, released last week by Carolina, is visiting the Cleveland Browns. Agent Rick Smith said Thursday that Delhomme is at Cleveland's team headquarters in Berea, Ohio. The Browns have been shopping for a quarterback, and earlier this week acquired backup Seneca Wallace in a trade and released Derek Anderson. Agent Rick Smith would not comment on Delhomme's visit to Cleveland.
Delhomme went 58-40 in seven seasons as the Panthers' starter and led them to one Super Bowl appearance. He was cut as the Panthers trimmed salary - Delhomme is still owed $12.5 million - and so they could promote Matt Moore to starter. Delhomme is coming off his worst season, throwing a career-high 18 interceptions. He broke down in tears last week as he said goodbye to the Panthers and their fans.
