The Redskins part ways with CB DeAngelo Hall on Monday, The Washington Post first reported. Hall was due to count $8 million against the cap.

“I understand the business side of things,” Hall told The Post. “I thanked him for the opportunity and wished them luck. Mike (Shanahan) said he really felt bad because I had done everything they asked.”

Hall, 29, spent the past four-plus seasons with the Redskins after heading to Washington midway through the 2008 season. He started every game each of the past three seasons.

In nine NFL seasons, Hall ahs 114 passes defensed and 34 interceptions. He had four picks and 14 passes defensed in 2012.
