The Vikings' most explosive player not named Adrian Peterson will apparently remain a Viking in 2013.

Speaking to a group of reporters on Friday, GM Rick Spielman said his club has "no intent" to trade Percy Harvin, the tantalizing receiver who is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

Harvin's first four NFL seasons have had plenty of ups and downs. One of the game's more versatile, explosive players, Harvin has totaled 29 TDs in 54 games. Yet, he's had numerous run-ins with coaches and was not a good teammate late last season, when, after being placed on injured reserve with an ankle sprain in December, he stayed away from the team facility for the next month.

Harvin, 24, also temporarily requested a trade last offseason before quickly changing his tune.

When he is healthy and focused, Harvin is an incredible talent, undoubtedly the biggest reason why Spielman, whose club is sorely lacking playmakers at the wideout position, intends on keeping him around. But after Spielman declined to comment on possibly negotiating an extension with Harvin Friday, it appears the mercurial wideout has some work to do before that conversation can occur.
