The Eagles and QB Michael Vick agreed to terms on a restructured contract, allowing Vick to return for 2013, the team announced.

Vick was reportedly due $15.5 million in 2013 from the six-year deal he signed in August 2011. New Eagles head coach Chip Kelly decided he wanted Vick in the fold for his first season in Philly, and the two sides renegotiated a new deal. Per multiple reports, Vick’s restructured contract is for three years, but the final two years void next March.

In 10 games last season, Vick threw 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He rushed for 332 yards and a score, but had 11 fumbles, losing five of them. Vick missed time with a concussion, as rookie Nick Foles took over as the starter, and Vick remained the backup after he was medically cleared. When Foles injured his hand in Week 16, Vick started the regular-season finale.

Since becoming a starter for the Eagles in 2010, Vick has thrown 51 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. He has not played a full 16-game regular season since 2006 with the Falcons.

"I am grateful and proud to be a Philadelphia Eagle. My heart is in Philly and this community is important to me," Vick tweeted.

Vick, who turns 33 in June, will likely compete with Foles to be the starter in 2013. There are rumors that the Eagles will also bring in QB Dennis Dixon, who played for Kelly at Oregon.

"The one thing that attracted me to Michael after visiting with him, he's a competitor," Kelly said at Monday's press conference. "I don't think Michael is afraid of anything. He wants competition. I've seen Nick up close and personal and I think Nick wants it too."
