The Lions hired former Broncos GM Brian Xanders as a senior personnel executive, the team confirmed Monday.

Xanders worked for the Broncos from 2008-11, beginning as an assistant general manager before being promoted in 2009. The Broncos and Xanders parted ways last May.

Prior to joining the Broncos’ organization, Xanders spent 14 years with the Falcons. He will be charged with “changing the way the Lions scout and grade players,” per the team’s website.
