The Chiefs announced several coaching hires on Friday to join Andy Reid’s staff for 2013, including their new coordinators.

Bob Sutton will be Reid’s defensive coordinator, with Doug Pederson taking over the offense.

Sutton spent the past 13 seasons with the Jets. In 2012, he was Rex Ryan’s assistant head coach and linebackers coach. He was the Jets’ defensive coordinator from 2006-08. Sutton began his coaching career in the college ranks in 1972 and was the head coach of Army from 1991-99.

Pederson spent 12 years in the NFL and played for Reid with the Eagles in 1999. He was named Philly’s quarterbacks coach in 2011 after two seasons as the club’s offensive quality control coach.

In addition, Reid hired assistants Eric Bieniemy (running backs), Tommy Brahser (defensive line), Travis Crittenden (assistant strength and conditioning), David Culley (assistant head coach/wide receivers), Mike Frazier (statistical analysis coordinator), Corey Matthaei (quality control), Tom Melvin (tight ends), Matt Nagy (quarterbacks), Britt Reid (quality control) and Barry Rubin (head strength and conditioning).

Brasher is entering his 25th year as an NFL coach. He was with Reid in Philadelphia from 1999-2005 and re-joined the staff on Dec. 3 as a D-line coach.

Culley was the Eagles’ wide receivers coach from 1999-2010 and senior offensive assistant/wide receivers from 2011-12.

Nagy spent the past two seasons as the Eagles’ offensive quality control coach. Reid is Andy’s son and spent the last three seasons at Temple.
