Jaguars owner Shahid Khan's search for a new GM is in full gear, with 49ers director of player personnel Tom Gamble and Falcons director of player personnel David Caldwell already receiving interviews (Caldwell was interviewed twice), and Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross and Cardinals VP of player personnel Steve Keim also expected to sit down with Khan in the near future.
We hear Khan has identified some strong candidates to replace former GM Gene Smith, with the résumés of Gamble and Ross being particularly impressive.
However, we hear the way Khan removed Smith, the team's GM since 2009 and a Jaguars employee since its inception, left something to be desired. Khan didn't hold a press conference to announce the decision, and a source said it shows that Khan is still learning his way as an NFL owner.

Jones-Drew already had indicated he was going back to school this summer, which would limit his offseason availability. Nonetheless, this marks the third consecutive offseason in which major question marks loom regarding Jacksonville's most talented player.
