Raiders head coach Dennis Allen’s father died Monday night, the team announced Tuesday.

“The Raiders sadly learned this morning that Coach Allen’s father passed away,” the team said in a statement. “Allen still plans to return to coach the game Thursday night. The organization wishes to extend its most sincere condolences to Coach and his entire family.”

Following the Raiders’ loss to the Browns in Week 13, Allen left the team to be with his father in Texas.

Oakland hosts the Broncos on Monday night. Allen was the Broncos’ defensive coordinator in 2011.
