The Chargers signed WR Danario Alexander and placed PK Nate Kaeding on injured reserve. The team plans to release Kaeding when he is healthy.
Kaeding has been with the Chargers since 2004, but played in only one game last season after tearing his ACL. He injured his groin prior to Week Four this season. The former third-round pick was a perfect 7-for-7 this season on field goals. He has a career 87.0 percentage on field goals and has missed two extra points.
Nick Novak will continue to be the Chargers’ kicker.
Alexander, a third-year pro out of Missouri, played in 10 games with five starts last season for the Rams and had 26 catches for 431 yards and two touchdowns.
