The Raiders officially announced the restructuring of their player personnel department, naming several people to new positions and finalizing other hirings.
The biggest additions to the front office are Joey Clinkscales as the director of player personnel and Shaun Herock as director of college scouting. Both will work under GM Reggie McKenzie, who was hired in January. McKenzie’s twin brother, Raleigh, was also brought on as a college scout.
Clinkscales comes to Oakland from the Jets, where he worked for the past 17 years. He was most recently New York’s vice president of college scouting, overseeing the team’s scouting department and taking a lead role in preparations for the NFL draft. In Oakland his responsibilities will be assisting Reggie McKenzie in molding the Raiders' roster, along with draft preparation.
Herock was with the Packers the past 19 years, including the last 11 as Green Bay’s assistant director of college scouting. He will see an even greater role in Oakland, leading the evaluations for the NFL draft.
