The Seahawks have agreed to terms with former Cardinals free-agent OG Deuce Lutui and ex-Titans free-agent LB Barrett Ruud, the team announced Friday. Seattle also re-signed free-agent CB Roy Lewis. All three agreed to one-year contracts.

Lutui played in 15 games for Arizona last season but didn’t start any. The 2006 second-round draft choice had started all 63 games he had played in during the previous four seasons with the Cardinals.

Ruud started all nine games he played in for the Titans last season before suffering a groin injury and being placed on injured reserve. The seven-year veteran had 57 tackles, an interception and three passes defensed before going on I.R.

Lewis has been a nickel back and special-teams performer the past three seasons in Seattle. After missing the first six games of last season because of a 2010 knee injury, Lewis played in the team’s final 10 games, with one start, recording 20 tackles, one-half sack, one pass defensed and two fumble recoveries. He added four special-teams tackles. Before hurting his knee in 2010, Lewis was Seattle’s special-teams captain.

The Seahawks had elected not to make a qualifying offer or minimum tender to Lewis as a restricted free agent, thus making him an unrestricted free agent on March 13.

The way we see it

Lutui will be in the running for the Seahawks’ starting role at left guard after the release of Robert Gallery. However, his out-of-control weight has hampered him throughout his career, contributing to the loss of a starting job last season in Arizona.

Ruud has a shot at the MLB job after David Hawthorne signed with New Orleans on Tuesday.

Lewis will continue to play a role in the team’s nickel defense and on special teams.
