The 49ers have re-signed WR Ted Ginn Jr. to a one-year deal. Financial terms were not announced.
Ginn, a former first-round pick of the Dolphins, has been a part-time receiver during the past two seasons with San Francisco, compiling 31 catches for 383 yards and one touchdown. His greatest impact has come as a return specialist, averaging 27.6 yards per kick return and 12.3 yards per punt return in 2011. He also scored a touchdown on each type of return last season.
PFW ranked Ginn 81st on its list of the top 100 free agents this offseason.
“We are glad that Ted has decided to return to the 49ers in 2012," 49ers GM Trent Baalke said in a statement. “He is a versatile player and an excellent teammate that will continue to play an important role for us on both offense and special teams.”
