The Chiefs have re-signed ILB Jovan Belcher, who had been a restricted free agent. He will earn $1.927 million on the one-year deal.

Belcher, a former undrafted rookie out of Maine, has emerged as a solid starter for Kansas City. He has started 31-of-32 games the past two seasons and registered 171 tackles in that time span.

The team is expected to add a linebacker in the draft to provide depth, though Belcher will likely be the starter alongside Derrick Johnson when the 2012 season begins.
