The Saints have signed DT Brodrick Bunkley to a five-year contract, according to multiple reports. The deal is worth up to $25 million, with $9 million guaranteed.
A former first-round pick of the Eagles, Bunkley played five years in Philadelphia before being traded to the Broncos prior to the 2011 season. He had a good year with Denver, registering 43 tackles in 13 starts.
PFW ranked Bunkley 71st on its list of the top 100 free agents this offseason.
A physical run stuffer who is expected to man the middle of the Saints' defensive line, Bunkley likely replaces free-agent DTs Shaun Rogers and Aubrayo Franklin in New Orleans. The Broncos were interested in re-signing Bunkley, but they were unable to agree to terms before the tackle made a deal with the Saints.
