The Raiders restructured the contracts of DT Richard Seymour and S Michael Huff, according to Brian McIntyre of Football Outsiders.
Seymour lowered his $7.5 million fully guaranteed base salary to the league minimum, which is $925,000. The remaining $6.575 million was converted into a guaranteed roster bonus that will be treated as a signing bonus.
The restructuring lowers Seymour's cap number from $14.068 million to $8.808 million for the 2012 season.
Huff, who signed a four-year extension last August, had his base salary reduced to $700,000. The remaining $3.3 million on his base salary will be combined with his $4 million roster bonus to create a $7.3 million roster bonus. According to McIntyre, that will reduce Huff's cap number to $3.988 million.
The two moves save the Raiders a combined $11.82 million of cap space. Oakland was reportedly $20 million over the cap.
