Veteran RB Ahman Green will sign a one-day contract with the Packers Thursday evening so that he can retire from the NFL as a member of the organization.
Green, who last played in the NFL in 2009, spent eight seasons in Green Bay. He is the club's all-time leading rusher with 8,322 yards and helped the team win four division titles during his career. Green's best season came in 2003, when he rushed for 1,883 yards and 15 touchdowns, earning him one of his four Pro Bowl appearances.
He also spent time in the NFL with the Seahawks, who drafted him in the third round in 1998, and Texans.
Green was recently hired as a sideline reporter for the Big Ten Network.
