The Broncos' decision to take two safeties in the 2011 NFL draft could affect the future of S Renaldo Hill. Denver went into the draft looking to come away with four starters and, after taking S Rahim Moore in the second round, we hear the team could be looking for an infusion of youth in its secondary. Although he turns 38 in October, S Brian Dawkins' job appears to be safe. Head coach John Fox has said the team plans to lean on the eight-time Pro Bowler because of his veteran presence in hopes that he can become a mentor for the younger players. That would make Hill the odd man out. Hill, 32, depends heavily on his football I.Q. and does not have the same athleticism that Moore brings to the table. The longer the lockout continues, the better the odds that Hill holds on to his spot, but it seems inevitable that Moore will become the eventual replacement. Hill signed a four-year, $10 million contract in '09 and could remain with the team in a reserve role if he were to lose the starting job.
