Overview: The term solid comes to mind when generalizing the crop of players that have been selected with the 23rd overall pick. The statistics don't jump off the page, but PFW found that many of the players taken No. 23, which is held by the Eagles this year, have gone on to have productive careers:

2010: Packers select Iowa OT Bryan Bulaga
Bulaga played well for the Packers in his rookie season. He ran into a wall midway through the season but was able to rebound effectively in the playoffs to help Green Bay win Super Bowl XLV. He figures to remain at right tackle because of his short arms.

2009: Ravens select Mississippi OT Michael Oher
After a solid rookie season at right tackle, Oher took a step back after switching to the left side in '10. He still figures to be a starter in Baltimore for years to come, but he has not developed as quickly as some expected.

2008: Steelers select Illinois RB Rashard Mendenhall
Mendenhall continued to show improvement in a stellar 2010 season. The young back has a good mix of strength and speed that allowed him to pick up a career-high 1,273 yards in '10. He also had a career-best 13 touchdowns.

2007: Chiefs select LSU WR Dwayne Bowe
Bowe had a breakout season in '10, pulling in career highs in touchdowns (15) and receiving yards (1,162). At 6-2, 221 pounds, he is known as a possession receiver who is capable of making big plays.

2006: Buccaneers select Oklahoma OG Davin Joseph
Joseph has been a productive guard throughout his career in Tampa Bay. He has started 67-of-68 games for the Bucs and is known as a powerful blocker who excels in the rushing game.

2005: Raiders select Nebraska CB Fabian Washington
Washington has spent three years each with the Raiders and Ravens, providing solid coverage for both teams. His numbers don't jump off the charts, but Washington is capable of providing situational coverage when needed.

2004: Seahawks select Texas DT Marcus Tubbs
Injuries brought Tubbs' career to an early close. He played in 24 games for the Seahawks from 2004-05 but a knee injury cut his '06 season short after just five games. He never played in the NFL again.

2003: Bills select Miami (Fla.) RB Willis McGahee
The Bills took a chance on McGahee after he suffered a knee injury in his final game at Miami. He had two seasons of 1,000 or more yards in Buffalo and one such season in Baltimore but his production has decreased with the Ravens since the emergence of Ray Rice.

2002: Raiders select Northwestern MLB Napoleon Harris
Harris spent three years with the Raiders, recording 182 tackles during that period. He was shipped to the Vikings as part of the Randy Moss trade and, while he made a lot of tackles, never quite lived up to the expectations of a first-round pick.

2001: Saints select Mississippi RB Deuce McAllister
McAllister is one of the most-beloved Saints of all time, for good reason. He spent eight seasons in New Orleans, including a 1,641-yard campaign in 2003. His numbers dropped off after the '06 season and McAllister retired two years later.
