Dan Arkush
Executive editor Dan Arkush has worked full-time for Pro Football Weekly from 1975 to 1992 and — following a three-year period working for various Chicago-based trade magazines — 1995 to the present. The son of PFW founder Art Arkush and brother of publisher/editor Hub Arkush, Dan has worked in every capacity as a writer, editor and editor-in-chief for PFW, including a 1 1/2-year stint as the editor of Basketball News, which was modeled after PFW. Dan was instrumental in developing the “Way We Hear It,” which has been considered PFW’s key component since its inception in the late ‘70s. He has covered every team in the league at one time or another for PFW, reported in person on 13 Super Bowls and has also attended the last 14 Scouting Combines. His current specialty is the NFC West and Bears and Packers from the NFC North, and his quick-hitting “A Bombs” are a regular feature in PFW’s print edition. Arkush is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He worked as the sports editor for the North Kansas City Dispatch for one year before joining PFW.
