Notes:

Married with a daughter. His younger half-brother, Arrelious Benn, was a standout receiver at Illinois and was a 2010 second-round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Spent five years in prison for his role in an armed robbery of a grocery store in the Washington D.C. area.  After his release, he started his college career at the College of DuPage (Ill.) in 2008 and recorded 114 tackles, zero pass breakups, one interception and nine tackles for loss in 12 games. Named an NJCAA All-American and team captain in ’09 after posting 96-0-4 with six tackles for loss in 10 games. Signed with Illinois and started 12-of-13 games at free safety in ’10, logging 64-3-3 with three tackles for loss. Totaled 41-3 1/2-0 with three pass breakups and two interceptions in 11 games (10 starts) at SLB in '11. Was shot in the right hand and broke a bone in his forearm November 13 while picking up some teammates at an off-campus party and was scheduled to miss the rest of the season but returned to play in the bowl game against UCLA. Is a 26-year-old senior. Team captain.
