Notes: First name is pronounced “tah-VOY.” Wears No. 10 because he was 10 years old when his mother passed away. Also lettered in track (four times) and basketball (once). Played for Cerritos College (Calif.) in 2008, rushing 45 times for 164 yards (3.6-yard average) and zero touchdown while catching six passes for 49 yards (8.2-yard average) and zero TDs in 10 games. Had six kickoff returns for 116 yards (19.3-yard average) and four punt returns for 117 yards (29.2-yard average) and one touchdown. Saw action in only eight games in ’09 as he battled injuries, posting 8-79-0 (9.9) rushing, 10-218-3 (21.8) receiving and 10-318-1 (31.8) on kickoff returns. Earned AP first-team All-America honors for his first season at Idaho State in ’10, piling up 2,034 all-purpose yards — 62-252-0 (4.1) rushing, 34-421-3 (12.4) receiving, 15-275-2 (18.3) on punt returns and 45-1,086-2 (24.1) on kickoff returns in 11 starts. Became the first player in Big Sky Conference history to return a kickoff and punt for a touchdown in the same game twice (Northern Colorado, Montana).
10/13/2011 (News): Idaho State WR Tavoy Moore was dismissed from the team following a suspension, with conduct detrimental to the team relating to multiple events being cited as the reason. Moore had missed spring drills with some off-field issues along with three September games because of an ankle injury. Head coach Mike Kramer criticized the back following a 33-0 loss to Montana State last week, saying "our debonair tailback, who's supposed to be a really good player, frizzled and melted himself." Moore had one carry for no gain and fumbled a punt return.
10/11/2011 (News): Idaho State WR-RS Tavoy Moore has been a nonfactor on offense (11-30-0) and he was stripped of his punt return duties after fumbling against Montana. Head coach Erik Kramer told the Idaho State Journal, "I'd call it a demotion."
