Last name is pronounced “lo-EYE-sew.” Named the Massachusetts Defensive Player of the Year as a senior, while leading his team to a 13-0 record. Was involved in a fight with two men in May 2007 and arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (the ground) after one man was hospitalized with a serious head injury. Loiseau took 28 stitches in his face. Saw action as a backup linebacker in five games in 2008, making five tackles, zero tackles for loss and zero sacks. Started all 10 games at middle linebacker in ’09, recording 123-4 1⁄2-1 1⁄2 with one pass defended and one interception to earn first-team all-conference honors. Wore uniform No. 53 for his first two seasons. Broke his own school record for tackles and was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year after posting 133-11 1⁄2-5 with three forced fumbles in 10 starts at middle linebacker in ’10. Returned a fumble 50 yards for touchdown against Southern Connecticut State. Was the repeat winner of the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year in ’11 after breaking the school’s career tackle record (382) and leading the team with 121-10 1⁄2-4 1⁄2 with one pass breakup and one forced fumble in 10 games. Team captain. Tweaked his right hamstring running the 40 at the Combine and did not run shuttles.Positives:
Thickly built. Good straight-line striking power. Times blitzes. Tough, hard-nosed, nasty, throwback — every time he hits it is on the border of being a personal foul. Loves to play and hit and it shows. Highly productive, three-year starter. Has special-teams experience and ideal makeup for it. Outstanding football character.Negatives:
Has very short arms and small hands. Not an explosive athlete. Very stiff and too straight-linish — can be exposed trying to break down in space. Very limited in coverage. Has faced marginal competition.Summary:
A hellbent collision waiting to happen, Louiseau can be heard on the football field with thundering licks. Has the look of a two-down “Mike” linebacker and core special-teamer.
