Was a cornerback and return specialist, in addition to lettering in basketball, track and baseball as a Texas prep. Started 9-of-12 contests at cornerback as a true freshman in 2008, recording 34 tackles, two passes broken up and zero interceptions with one tackle for loss. Returned 17 kickoffs for 436 yards (25.6-yard average) and zero touchdowns in the last four games of the season. Led the team in interceptions in ’09 after posting 47-2-3 with two tackles for loss in 12 starts. Saw limited action as a returner – 15-395-0 (26.3) on kickoffs and three punt returns for 19 yards (6.3-yard average). Had surgery to repair a right shoulder dislocation in April of ’10 but returned in the fall and was named the team’s Outstanding Defensive Back after posting 39-6-1 with 1 1/2 tackles for loss in 12 starts.
