First name is pronounced “ro-KEY-v-us.” Prepped in Georgia and spent two years (2007-08) at Georgia Military College. Redshirted in 2009. Started all 14 games in ’10 — 12 at left guard, two at right guard. Sprained his right shoulder against Furman. Started all 13 games in ’11, and proved to be very versatile — started the first five games at right tackle, the next seven at left tackle and the final contest at right guard. Was medically excluded from the Combine with a right wrist injury.Positives:
Very long arms with natural girth. Good foot quickness and agility for a big man. Natural knee bender. Solid pass protector. Flashes a strong punch. Good functional base strength. Can position and wall off defenders. Versatile — has played inside and outside.Negatives:
Fleshy-bodied, pear-shaped and smooth-muscled — carries man-boobs. Does not play strong or physical. Average range. Late to read and react to what he sees. Has a soft playing temperament. Average football intelligence. Really struggled to protect the edge vs. Arkansas’ Jake Bequette. Weight has fluctuated and pushed 360 pounds upon his arrival at South Carolina. Immature.Summary:
Finesse, big-bodied, versatile positional blocker with the mass, arm length and athletic ability to plug in at multiple positions. Has eventual starter potential if he figures out what it means to be a pro and continues to work in the weight room.
