Ranked as one of the top high school kickers in the country as a Texas prep. Won the starting job midway through the 2008 season, connecting on 6-of-7 field-goal attempts and 20-of-21 point-after tries. Booted 35 kickoffs for a 58.7-yard average and five kickoffs in seven games. In ’09, tied the school’s single-season record for extra points after hitting all 51 PATs in addition to making 12-of-19 FG attempts and kicking off 80-63.0-9. In ’10, was again perfect on his PATs, making all 50, and connecting on 16-of-21 FG attempts with 77-62.6-13 on kickoffs. Had an outstanding ’11 season, winning the Lou Groza Award and being named to numerous All-America squads after connecting on a school-record 29-of-33 FG attempts and 55-of-57 PATs to set the school mark of 142 points . Boomed kickoffs 96-65.8-32 and led the nation with 2.23 field goals per game. Had a streak of 122 consecutive successful PATs snapped in the season opener and then hit his final 52 for the season. Was the leading field-goal kicker in the country as a senior. Highly accurate between 40-49 yards. Smooth stroke and follow-through. Also kicked off.

Average leg strength and kickoff depth. Could stand to get more lift on field goals. Limited experience with consequential kicks.

Stoutly built, thick-legged right-footed kicker whose accuracy and production earned him the Lou Groza Award. Capable of challenging for a job.
