First name is pronounced “ray-mon.” Played linebacker and safety as a Florida prep. Saw limited action in nine games, mostly on special teams, as a true freshman and made six tackles. Began the season as a defensive back before being switched to linebacker. Played in all 13 games in ’09, producing 28 tackles, 3 1/2 tackles for loss and zero sacks with two passes defended. Saw increased action the second half of the season when Sean Spence was injured. Started 10-of-13 games at the SLB spot in ’10 and recorded 55-8-0 with one interception and one forced fumble. Was arrested in March ’11 for resisting and battery of police officer, both felonies, and three misdemeanors and was suspended from team activities. Was reinstated to the team two weeks later, and the charges were dropped when he entered a pretrial diversion program in April. In the fall, he made four starts at SLB and managed 18-2-0 with Miami's first blocked kick (field goal) since 2004. Suffered a season-ending right knee injury against Bethune-Cookman in October.
