Has a son. Was a first-team all-state linebacker as a Washington prep, where he also saw action at quarterback, running back, wide receiver, strong safety and cornerback. Also participated in basketball and track. Redshirted as a safety in 2007 and earned the Special Teams Scout of the Year Award. Was switched to cornerback in ’08 and started 11-of-12 games played (all but UCLA), recording 32 tackles, seven pass breakups and one interception with 1½ tackles for loss. Was a part-time kickoff returner with 18 returns for 352 yards (19.6-yard average). Saw action in all 12 games in ’09, starting the first six games at cornerback before losing his starting spot, and posted 26-2-0 with half a tackle for loss and a forced fumble. Also had 19-369-0 (19.4) as a kickoff returner. In ’10, he returned to his starting CB spot and recorded 37-8-2 with two tackles for loss and one forced fumble in 13 games. Had a 28-yard interception return for a touchdown against UCLA. In '11, he managed 40-5-0 with one tackle for loss in 12 games (eight starts) and missed only the season-opener after suffering a high ankle sprain in early August.Summary:
Well put together college cornerback who might not have the pure cover ability to hang outside in the pros, but has size and outstanding speed to be considered as a FS-conversion candidate. Questionable instincts, tackling and toughness.
