His father, Brian, played 10 years in the NFL as an offensive lineman with the New England Patriots (1981-86) and the Los Angeles Raiders (1987-88).  His maternal grandfather, John McKenzie, played in 691 NHL games and won a pair of Stanley Cups with the Boston Bruins. The Florida prep enrolled at Boston College in January 2008 and redshirted in the fall.  Saw action in 10 games as a reserve lineman and recorded 16 tackles, 2 1/2 tackles for loss and one sack in ’09. Led the team in tackles for loss and sacks recording 36-14-4 with two passes batted down and two forced fumbles in ’10 while playing in 12 games (four starts).  Started all 12 games and again, led the team in sacks after posting 47-8-2 1/2 with three passes batted down, one interception and one forced fumble in ’11.
