Notes: Engaged with one child. One of the top linebacker prospects in the country as a New Jersey prep. Played in two games in 2007, making one tackle, one tackle for loss and zero sacks, before a hip injury forced him to take a medical redshirt. Was the co-starter at the “Sam” linebacker in 2008, making seven starts and playing in all 13 contests, and recorded 33-4-1 1/2 with one pass breakup and one forced fumble. Was moved to weak-side linebacker in ’09, seeing action in eight games and tallying 18-1 1/2-0. Started 8-of-10 games in which he played at the SLB spot in ’10 and posted 48-5-0 with two pass breakups and one forced fumble. Suffered a knee injury against Army and missed the next two games. Was scheduled to move to the rush defensive end for the ’11 season. Suffered a concussion during fall camp and missed two weeks.
10/21/2011 (Injury Note): Rutgers DE Manny Abreu injured his left hand against Louisville. He has not been an impact player for the Knights since switching to defensive end as a senior.
