Notes: His name is pronounced “lah-VAHSH-ee-ay TOO-in-ay.” His father, Van Tuinei, played defensive end in the NFL for San Diego (1997), Indianapolis (1998) and Chicago (1999-2000). Also played basketball as an Indiana prep. Did not play football his senior season after transferring high schools. Spent the 2008 season at Golden West College (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and grabbed 41 catches for 680 yards (16.6-yard average) and three touchdowns. Transferred to Oregon for the ’09 campaign and saw action in 11 contests (nine starts), posting 24-217-0 (9.0). The two non-starts were due to the formation used (tight end started) and did not play in the season opener against Boise State (coach’s decision). Started 10-of-11 games in which he played in ’10 and recorded 36-396-2 (11.0). Fractured his left shoulder blade against California and missed the last two regular-season games but returned for the BCS championship game. Led the Ducks in receptions and receiving touchdowns in '11 after registering 48-599-10 (12.5) in 14 starts.
